Military Deployment – 10 GIFS to perfectly explain how you’ll feel

The word deployment alone springs up so many emotions. These GIFS are just a snippet of the feelings you may have actually going through one....

U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Daniel G. Dillender, an airframes mechanic with Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron (VMGR) 352, Marine Aircraft Group 11, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing (MAW), reunites with his wife, Angelica, and their dog, Bella, at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, San Diego, March 20, 2014. The word deployment alone springs up so many emotions. These GIFS are just a snippet of the feelings you may have actually going through one.

We bet you’ll experience these moments and then some…

1. Unstoppable crying

The tears will flow like Niagara Falls the day you get the news your loved one will be deploying. Expect lots of the same on the actual day of deployment.

You may want to buy some stock in Kleenex.

2. Leave Me Alone

Once your loved one leaves on deployment, you may feel like crawling into a hole. Or the couch.

Whatever works.

3. Euphoria

After a few weeks, you suddenly realize maybe this isn’t so bad. You can watch whatever shows you want. The whole bed is just for you. Chick flick marathons can commence. Or Monday Night Football parties every single week.

In fact, you may just want to throw a party for yourself.

4. Stress

You may find a permanent stress headache has descended upon you. Between having to take care of the kids, walking the dog and paying all the bills, you’re finding that your brain is running out of space. Therefore, you’re constantly irritated.

Just tell people it’s them, not you.

5. Paranoia

Even though you’ve hit refresh on your phone 10 times in the last two minutes, you are terrified you might miss that one very important phone call. Or chat notification.

Falling asleep with your phone in your hand is totally normal, too.

6. Frustration

You finally get the call.

Then static. And more static.

Click.

Expect another call in…oh, about 10 days.

7. Disbelief

This emotion comes when you’ve connected with your loved one. Either the phone call drops out, or when you can finally piece together what they’re saying through the static, it sounds like homecoming has been delayed.

Again.

Yell as loud as you want.

8. Crazy

When friends ask how you’re coping, simply invite them over for a wine party.

They’ll figure it out pretty quick.

9. Annoyance

Time couldn’t move slower when a loved one is deployed.

You’re becoming a master at hurry up and wait.

10. Pure joy

You’re going to have an epic reunion no matter where it happens to be: an airport, a pier, a rest stop. Expect to feel a ton of emotions the minute you even get a glimpse of your loved one.

Plus, a super emotional kiss if it’s your significant other you’ve been missing.
